Ingredients:
• 2 ripe avocados
• 1 small tomato, diced
• 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
• 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped (optional)
• Juice of 1 lime
• 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
2. Mash the avocados using a fork until they reach your desired consistency. You can make it smooth or leave it slightly chunky, depending on your preference.
3. Add the diced tomato, red onion, jalapeno pepper (if using), lime juice, chopped cilantro, and minced garlic to the bowl with the mashed avocados.
4. Gently fold all the ingredients together until well combined.
5. Season the avocado dip with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the amount of lime juice, jalapeno, or salt according to your preference.
6. Give the dip a taste and adjust the seasonings if needed.
7. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the avocado dip for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavours to meld together.
8. Before serving, give the dip a good stir.
9. Serve the avocado dip with tortilla chips, sliced vegetables, or use it as a spread for sandwiches, tacos, or quesadillas.
