Besan Ladoo is a popular Indian sweet made from roasted chickpea flour (besan), ghee, sugar, and nuts.
Ingredients:
? 1 cup besan (gram flour)
? 1/2 cup ghee (clarified butter)
? 3/4 cup powdered sugar
? 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
? 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (such as almonds, cashews, or pistachios)
? A pinch of saffron strands (optional)
Instructions:
? Heat a heavy-bottomed pan or kadai on medium-low heat. Add the ghee and let it melt.
? Add the besan to the melted ghee and mix well until the besan is completely coated in ghee.
? Cook the besan on low heat, stirring continuously to prevent it from burning. Continue to cook until the besan turns golden brown and emits a nutty aroma. This process may take around 15-20 minutes.
? Once the besan is roasted, remove the pan from the heat and let it cool slightly.
? While the mixture is still warm, add the powdered sugar, cardamom powder, chopped nuts, and saffron strands (if using).
? Mix all the ingredients together until well combined.
? Allow the mixture to cool completely, making it easier to shape into laddoos.
? Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into round balls or ladoos using your palms.
? Repeat the process with the remaining mixture.
? Place the besan ladoos on a plate or in an airtight container and let them set for a few hours.
Your homemade Besan Ladoos are now ready to be enjoyed! They make for a delightful treat during festive occasions or as a sweet indulgence any time of the year
